Photo of John Grimes in 2006 I'm setting up this website to serve several purposes, the most important of which is to provide Members of Boston's Local 9-535 to get a glimpse of me, learn more about what makes me tick, and examine what I have done during my brief time as your VICE PRESIDENT.

I have made Boston my home for the major part of my career as a professional musician. Every day I step forth into this community I feel great pride in being a part of this city and of our musicians, as one family.

I have served as your Vice President because I increasingly wanted to give back to a city and music scene that has given meaning to my life. Next, I want to contribute to leaving a legacy of improved working conditions, strong management-labor relations and a renewed sense of optimism among you that LIVE MUSIC is secure in Boston and positioned to thrive in the coming years.

A strong leader is first motivated by dreams of what might be and then takes risks to pursue what they believe can be achieved. That defines me, so please take a look at my Bio, my record of achievements (e.g. Local Bylaws proposed and enacted) and proven administrative and negotiation skills. My position features a demand for expertise in administration of electronic media agreements. I have exceeded every expectation in this capacity.

A very important part of my job is to be in many places representing you, to make sure this Local is regarded as one of the most progressive and engaged in the U.S. My high visibility in the Arts community as well as on the national legislative and AFM scene, means Local 9-535 is viewed as a serious player.
